Stop describing yourself like everyone else
When you meet new people, do you say you’re hardworking, passionate or a great team player?
Nobody would say they’re not these things. So there’s little point saying them.
Instead, apply the Opposite Test. Say something that others would genuinely say the opposite of.
For example:
đ “I prefer being direct rather than diplomatic.”
đ “I spent the first part of my career working for big brands.”
đ “I like to question a brief before I start working on it.”
These statements reveal why youâre different from others. They make you memorable.
If nobody would say the opposite, you’re probably not saying very much.
